Portrait Days in Dorset
It’s the 1st May and a glorious one in here in Dorset (it’s been a long winter….) which has inspired me to put together new dates for the summer of our hugely popular Portrait Days. As usual, you do need to book in for these days – we set a day and a location and you come along at the given time. Most of my clients use this as an excuse of a picnic and a day out and all my locations that I choose lend themselves to not just a fleeting visit. My gallery in Shaftesbury is a haven for portraits, set in the wonderful grounds of the Trinity Church with far reaching views of the Blackmore Vale and on the other side of the hill, views of Glastonbury and beyond – perfect space for children to run and parents to unwind – if it is chilly we can also recommend some fine places to warm up and have hot chocolate after your portrait.
Then there is the newly refurbished Pythouse Walled Garden and cafe, again, spend some time here to wander around the wonderful kitchen garden – you may want to ditch the picnic once you see the incredible food served in the cafe which can be taken al fresco, quietly in the peace of the Wiltshire countryside.
Studland beach, of course, spend some time at one of Dorset’s most incredible natural playgrounds – some of our summer portrait days are held in the evening so you are welcome to bring a bbq and hang out once the crowds have dispersed. This is one of the reasons we set the day in the evening, it’s just too busy in the day time and the light can be very harsh so we wait for that lovely evening light, giving a warm glow to you portraits. Here we have the dates but take a look at my Portrait Days page to find out more.
